Solubility
Bismuth oxide is insoluble in water but soluble in Hydrogen fluoride (HF) and Nitric acid (HNO3).
Uses
Bismuth oxide is used in the ceramics, glass and electronics industries. Bismuth oxide is also used in the chemical industry for the preparation of bismuth salts, as a catalyst, and in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
