Chromium
In nature, chromium is widely dispersed in the Earth's crust. Industries use Chromium in the form of free metal that has a steel-grey color and in the form of iron - chromium. Chromium is used in the preparation of nickel, cobalt and aluminium based alloys, in the oil industry as a catalyst, in electrical engineering and as a corrosion inhibitor. Chromium is irritating to the respiratory system and may cause perforation of the nasal septum and also has a corrosive action on proteins.
