Uses
Vanillina is a synthetic material derived from eugenol oxidation with potassium permanganate or ozone or by reaction of guaiacol with formaldehyde in a slow process. Vanillina is an aromatic aldehyde mainly used in the food industry (baked goods, cakes and creams, ice creams flavoring) as agent to cover smells, like the yeast smell of the pastry, and to encourage product consumption. Vanillina is also used in pharmacopoeia to excite the sense of hunger in conditions of food apathy. it is applied in the electroplating industry for the galvanization process, in washing & cleaning products, in polishes and waxes, in automotive care products and finally in paints and coating or adhesives.
