Rhenium
Rhenium is a transition metal which appears silvery-gray. It is one of the rarest element in the Earth’s crust and it occurs in small concentrations in other minerals. Rhenium is a byproduct of copper mining and has one of the highest melting points, exceeded only by tungsten and carbon. It is mostly used as an additive for the production of super alloys, pure as an electrical contact material and as a precursor in the catalyst manufacturing.
